All learners will be able to:

  • identify parts of the body (head and shoulders, eyes,ears, mouth, nose)

  • understand parts of the body
  • understand imperative forms of common verbs related to instructions
  • respond to very basic supported personal questions

Some learners will be able to:

  • present or name parts of the body correctly in narration without teacher support
  • understand the words right & left, tooth & teeth

Greeting/ Speech drill

Hello/Good morning! What day is it today? Is it Monday today?

What is the weather like today? How old are you? What is your favorite food?

Pay learners’ attention to the board and go through the lesson objectives. Make sure they all understood that.

  • Pass out classroom paddles and markers. Name body parts one by one and ask learners to write the first letter of each body part on their paddles and show. The one who shoes the letter first is the winner.

PERFORMING

Introduce the words right and left.

  • Show learners direction video and practice moving.
  • Ask learners to sow right/left parts of the body. (eyes, hands, arms, legs, fingers, ears)

Play a game “Body parts”. Each student has a card with the names of parts of the body. Teacher names any parts and pupils should find each other and make friendship circle.

Listening:

  • Pass out listening worksheet. Ask learners to listen and draw a monster. Give instructions using colors, numbers and directions.
  • Ask learners to swop their works and peer assess
  • Individuals can come before class and describe their monsters.
  • Give whole class feedback.

Break: Teacher invites children to stand in a circle to sing and to dance “Hokey Pokey”
