Leaners look at the pictures and sort into animals which hunt during the day and animals which hunt at night. They try to guess.

Pre-teach the word ‘to hunt’.

Give Leaners the Didactic Material 1 in order them to compare their answers. Read aloud the words.

Making notes on Worksheets 1-translations of the words Nocturnal, Diurnal

Ph. Training

Ls watch the video-song about Nocturnal Animals and name them after the video-watching.

Reading

-Look at the picture. What do you think the story is about?

Leaners read the story “The Owl who was Afraid

of the Dark”

Pre – reading Task

Learners first listen to a short piece about a nocturnal animal. Then they listen to the story (adapted) read by teacher of The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark.

Reading Task

Ask Ls to underline the words they do not know and make notes .

Post-reading Task

Differentiation by the level

For differentiation at this lesson it is recommended to pair students of the same ability levels (weak+weak or strong+strong). For this activity the teacher comes up to weaker students to support with vocabulary or ideas.
